Chabad of Forest Hills North is Expanding

What does this mean?

The light in a child’s eyes when he reads his first Hebrew word at CKids of The Arts that has successfully grown in such a short time. The excitement and fun CTeen Central Queens has at our amazing monthly programs. Our inspiring Shabbat Morning Services that is booming with no space left for seating. Our High Holiday services that has already relocated 2 years in a row to an outdoor tent nearby, with over 100 people in attendance due to no space at our Chabad location. Our Holiday and annual programing for adults that has been using other spaces at times for more room. Our Jewish Library with books still sitting in boxes needing a larger space to display them.

Now is the time to EXPAND B"H.

Chabad of FHN is a home away from home for every Jew in North Forest Hills now 10 years and thriving. We are dedicated to serving our community - and now we’re asking for your support to help us expand, with a 5 year lease of a new space already in negotiation, and to renovate and furnish it, that will enhance our activities so much more so that we can all have a bright Jewish future, together.

Why a Campaign?

Running an operation like Chabad of Forest Hills North requires a major investment of time, energy, and capital. While our Rabbi and Rebbetzin work tirelessly to ensure that no Jew is left behind, the day-to-day expenses of operating a Chabad center can be daunting. Rather than charging membership fees or exorbitant event prices, which could alienate some people, we rely on the generosity of the community that we serve. To that end, being that we want to do even more and expand with a gorgeous new space, we are launching this special campaign to fundraise for the expansion of our center and new space.

What will the space have?

The space will have a gorgeous synagogue that will accommodate 100 people. It will have a beautiful kids area and Jewish lending library. A coffee station and wash station, 2 bathrooms, A commercial kitchen, Rabbi's office, Storage space. The Synagogue can turn into 2 separate rooms with dividers that are sound proof for dual functions happening at the same time. The synagogue can open up as well as the kids area to a beautiful social hall and event space with round tables and elegent chiavari chairs. This area will also be used to expand the CKids of The Arts Sunday Hebrew School with more space. Our CTeen bi monthly programing will now have a larger space to expand in. Outside the space there are beautiful gardens and benches. There will be a few Chabad of FHN parking spots in the property lot that will be used for staff and community. Please see the video and images for real time views.
